Head Coach- 4th Season
Coach Kevin Kitchen enters his fourth season as the head coach of the University of Northwestern Ohio volleyball program. In three seasons at the helm of the Racers, Coach Kitchen has totaled a record of 76-39.
 
During Kitchen's three seasons at UNOH, he has placed three players on 1st Team All-Conference, four on 2nd Team All-Conference, one on 3rd Team All-Conference, and two on All-Conference Honorable Mention. Kitchen has helped lead a Libero of the Year twice in Kelly Oldiges and also placed four players on the All-Conference Freshman Team.
 
In 2010, the Racers competed in the WHAC for the first year, and continued their streak as they qualified for postseason for the third year in a row. Coach Kitchen led the Racers to their first ever postseason win over Davenport in the Quarterfinals. The Racers finished their season 23-14 overall and 10-6 in the WHAC.
 
The Racers qualified for postseason play during the 2009 season in which UNOH finished the regular season at 27-14 overall, and 8-4 in the American Mideast Conference. The Racers were the #5 seed in the AMC Tournament, but fell to #4 seed Point Park in 5 sets to end their 2nd season.
 
During his first season, the Racers finished their campaign with an impressive 26-11 record setting season. The Racers also finished 9-5 in the American Mideast Conference, which placed them 6th overall in the conference. The Racers had a season high 7 match win streak, which all occured on the road. The Racers qualified for AMC postseason play in their first year of existence. The Racers fell in 5 sets to first round opponent Cedarville to end their oustanding 2008 season.
 
Kitchen previously spent seven seasons coaching high school volleyball at New Knoxville, Piqua, and most recently at his alma mater, Lima Central Catholic. The Lady T-Birds were the 2007 OHSAA Division III State Champions. Prior to that, Kitchen led Piqua to three consecutive District final appearances, and was named the District 9 coach of the year three times.
 
Kitchen is also a co-director and coach for Team Atlantis Volleyball Club. Most recently, his 15 Elite team finished in 3rd place at the 2008 USA Junior Volleyball Championships - National Division.
 
Kitchen graduated from Walsh University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education. He comes to UNOH after a teaching career in the Piqua City School system. Kitchen is single and resides in Elida.

Coach Betsy Hone enters her first season with the Racers as an Assistant Coach.
 
Previously, she played four years at The Ohio State University. As the Setter, she led the Buckeyes on a tournament run to the Sweet Sixteen and an overall record of 24-12. She ranks eighth in Buckeyes history for total assists (2,397) and seven in assists per set (8.62).
 
Hone previously coached the ELITE VBC based in Columbus, Ohio, as well as at the All-American Volleyball Camps and The Ohio State University Volleyball Summer Camp Series.

Coach Chuck Braden enters his fourth season as the Women's Volleyball Assistant Coach. In the Racers three seasons of existence, Coach Braden helped lead the Racers to three very successful seasons as they have totaled a record of 76 wins and 39 losses.
 
Coach Braden has over 23 years coaching experience at the club, high school, and college level. He has co-founded numerous Ohio High School Athletic Associations including the OHSVCA, and is an instructor at the OHSVCA Elite Camp (Director for 15 years). His successful coaching career includes: Assistant Coach at University of Northwestern Ohio (2008 - present), and 21 years of High School volleyball at Fort Loramie and New Knoxville - career record (340W - 171L). Over the years he has received numerous awards which have included: Coach of the Year in District 8 and 9, league and Ohio several times, OHSVCA Hall of Fame inductee, OHSVCA Achievement Award, OHSVCA President and Vice-President, and many others. He is a published author, clinician, and camp director for several colleges and clubs. He also has a very successful club career that spans 23 years.
 
Coach Braden and his wife Judy reside in New Knoxville, OH where they have three daughters; Jena, Brook, and Shannen.
