LIMA - The University of Northwestern Ohio had a great week last week, and it showed when the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Players of the Week were announced Monday.

Lauren Maxwell was named the Volleyball Player of the Week, and Keith Long was named the Men's Golfer of the Week. It's first time this season UNOH has had multiple players selected as Player of the Week in the same period.

Maxwell totaled 66 assists and 11 digs as the Lady Racers went 2-0 with straight-set wins over IU-Kokomo and Lawrence Tech. UNOH improved to 25-1 overall and 6-0 in the conference, and the Lady Racers 22-game winning streak remained intact.

On the season, Maxwell has 914 assists and 230 digs. Her assist total already ranks as the fifth-best season in UNOH history.

Maxwell is the third UNOH volleyball player to win the honor this season, following Casey Gates and Emily Crowell. The Lady Racers are back in action at 7 p.m. Tuesday when they host Marygrove College in a WHAC match.

Long won the award for the second time this season after winning the WHAC Jamboree No. 4 with a 1-over par 73. His second WHAC Jamboree win this season also earned him a trip to the NAIA National Championships in Portland, Oregon, in May 2013.
