SYLVANIA - The news coming out of Sylvania Country Club and the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Jamboree No. 4 couldn't have been much better for the University of Northwestern Ohio men's golf team and sophomore Keith Long. The Racers finished second as a team, and Long won medalist honors and a trip to the NAIA Men's Golf National Championship in Portland, Oregon in May 2013.

Long fired a 1-over par 73 to tie with Alex Watier of Davenport University, but Long won the medalist title and the trip to the National Championship as the WHAC regular season champ.

The Racers finished the fall season in second place overall thanks to their 315 score on Friday. They edged out Madonna University in the standings, 1542-1543, while Davenport won the title at 1515.

In the fourth Jamboree, Davenport posted a 302, Indiana Tech tied the Racers at 315, and Madonna was fifth with a 324.

In addition to Long being the medalist and named first-team All-WHAC, Alex Odenweller was named honorable mention All-WHAC after his 79 on Friday. Matt Smith added an 81, Opie Lucas had an 82, Kyle Karhoff had an 86, and Austin Clarkson had an 89 as an individual.
