LIMA - After scoring more than one goal only twice in the first nine games of the season, the University of Northwestern Ohio men's soccer team is on quite a roll, scoring 14 goals in the last three matches, including a 5-0 win over Marygrove College on Wednesday at Racers Field.

With their third straight win, the Racers evened their overall record at 6-6 and moved to 3-2 in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference; they're fifth in the conference standings with nine points. With five league games left, the Racers are one point out of the top-4 and hosting a conference tournament match.

UNOH jumped out to a 2-0 lead at halftime on goals by Dominic Riedel and Malakai Field. Riedel's goal came less than 18 minutes into the match on a drive down the left and a shot from six yards out, and Field's goal came off a rebound of Gabriel Falcon's shot.

Falcon added a goal early in the second half for the 3-0 lead, Wesley Cain scored his team-leading fifth goal at the 59:13 mark, and Kyle Lewis capped off the scoring at 87:09.

Falcon totaled one goal and two assists against Marygrove (4-7-2, 2-1-2 WHAC), and Adam Waern had an assist on Lewis' goal.

Field, Falcon and Cain are tied for the team lead with 11 points; both Field and Falcon had four goals and three assists on the season.

UNOH goalkeeper Liam Davies, the reigning WHAC Defensive Player of the Week, worked his fourth shutout of the season, and second in three games.

Up next for UNOH is a home match against Davenport University at 3 p.m. Saturday.
