LIMA - For the second time in as many weeks, a University of Northwestern Ohio men's golfer was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week. This time, junior Alex Odenweller took home the honors.
Odenweller continued his strong season with a pair of top-10 finishes last week. At the Bill Bockwitz Intercollegiate tournament in Jackson, Mich., Odenweller turned in a two-day total of 154 to finish 10th. Then at the Fall OAC Invitational at Red Hawk Run, he went even lower, with a two-day 150 to finish second, only four shots out of the lead.
On the season, Odenweller is second on the team with a 76.3 stroke average, with seven of his eight rounds in the 70s. His lowest round was an even-par 72 at the season-opening IU-East Earlybird Invitational, where he finished second. He has been in the top-10 in four of the five events.
Last week, teammate Keith Long was named the WHAC Golfer of the Week.
This Saturday and Sunday, the Racers compete in the Kenyon Invitational at Mount Vernon Country Club in Mount Vernon, Ohio.
