MISHAWAKA, Ind. - It was a tough test for the University of Northwestern Ohio men's soccer team, and when No. 20 Bethel scored within the first six minutes of Wednesday's match, the degree of difficulty rose that much more.

Luke Davis gathered a pass from across the box and scored from inside six yards, giving Bethel an early lead in its 3-0 non-league win against UNOH. The Pilots improved to 6-1-1 on the season while UNOH fell to 2-4.

Timothy Wilson scored on a header for Bethel, and Abraham Lucas Dos Santos added the final tally. The Pilots out-shot the Racers 16-10.

Martin Echenique and Adam Waern each had three shots, and Gabriel Falcon and Wesley Cain had two apiece. Racers goalkeeper Liam Davies had a season-high eight saves.

The Racers must gather themselves quickly as the Wolverine-Hoosier Conference opener looms Saturday when they travel to Aquinas College. The Racers return home Wednesday, October 3.
