WESTERVILLE - The University of Northwestern Ohio volleyball team kept rolling Tuesday night with a 3-0 win over Otterbein University, 25-18, 25-21, 25-17.
The Lady Racers appeared in the NAIA Top-25 poll earlier in the day by receiving nine votes, and the Cardinals were ranked No. 14 in the most recent NCAA Division III poll. The Lady Racers moved to 15-1 with the win.
Emily Crowell, the reigning Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Player of the Week, led the Lady Racers with 13 kills and a .444 attacking percentage. Casey Gates added 12 kills and seven digs. UNOH had a team attacking percentage of .293.
Lauren Maxwell had 33 assists and seven digs, Ellie Comes had 17 digs and Lauren Macuga added nine digs.
UNOH opens WHAC play Wednesday night with a match at Concordia University.
The Lady Racers next home match is September 19 against UM-Dearborn. The match is also a pediatric cancer benefit match; all money raised will go to childhood cancer research at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus. There will be a bake sale, and a raffle will be held with items from Lock 16, Anytime Fitness, Western Sizzlin, Menards, Swing Rite driving range and Chuck E. Cheese.
