CINCINNATI - The University of Northwestern Ohio volleyball team has many new faces for the 2012 season, but the results were much the same as before. The Lady Racers opened the season Wednesday with a 3-0 win at Cincinnati Christian University, 25-20, 25-10, 25-23.

Four of the new faces led the way for UNOH. Junior setter Lauren Maxwell had 36 assists, 11 digs, three kills and two blocking assists while teammate Lauren Macuga also had 11 digs. Junior middle blocker Brittany Egbert had 15 kills and two blocking assists, and junior outside hitter Casey Gates had 13 kills and 22 digs.

The Lady Racers have now opened up with a win in their first match in four straight seasons. This begins the fifth season for UNOH volleyball.

UNOH is at the UM-Dearborn Earlybird Tournament Friday and Saturday. The Lady Racers open their home schedule with a tri-match against Huntington University and University of Rio Grande at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
