RICHMOND, Ind. - The University of Northwestern Ohio men's golf team opened the 2012 season with a strong showing at the IU-East Red Wolves Fall Tee-Off Tournament. The Racers ‘A' team finished second with a team score of 299 while the ‘B' team finished third with a 303.
Sophomore Keith Long was the medalist with a 1-under par 71 on the 6,735-yard Highland Lakes Golf Course. Teammate Alex Odenweller, a junior transfer from Indiana Tech, fired a 72 for second place.
The host Red Wolves took the team title. Their top-4 scorers all shot between a 73 and a 76.
The UNOH ‘B' team was paced by junior Austin Clarkson's 74 and freshman Blake Pendergrass' 75.
The Racers are back in action September 8 when they travel to Lenawee Country Club in Adrian, Michigan, for the first of four Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Jamobrees.
