LIMA - The University of Northwestern Ohio men's tennis team got off to a great start in the NAIA Unaffiliated Group tournament with a rousing 5-0 win over Roberts Wesleyan University at Westwood Tennis Center on Friday.

The 22nd-ranked Racers advance to the finals at 1 p.m. Saturday at Westwood against Aquinas College with the winner qualifying for the NAIA National Championships in Mobile, Alabama. The Saints beat the Racers last week in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference finals.

The Racers (19-6) got a quick 3-0 lead after sweeping the doubles matches. The UNOH top doubles team of Jeff Brown and Emin Alpan beat the No. 9-ranked doubles team in the nation 8-5, and Brown won at second singles for a 4-0 Racers lead.

Gustavo Rueda won the deciding match at first singles, 7-6 (1), 7-6 (5). With the 5-0 advantage, the rest of the matches were left unfinished.
