RIO GRANDE - Jake Bolyard did his normal against Cincinnati Christian University, and again the University of Northwestern Ohio men's basketball team got great support from the rest of the lineup as the Racers opened the Bevo Francis Tournament with a 92-86 win on Friday.
Bolyard scored a game-high 25 points on 10-of-20 shooting, also handing out six assists.
Mike Wynn added 19 points, going 9-of-12 from the floor. Johnny Elliott scored 13 points with three steals, and Jon Slagle had 11 points and nine rebounds. Dustin Guthrie had eight points and 14 rebounds.
The Racers shot 52 percent from the floor (39-of-75) and out-rebounded Cincinnati Christian 50-35. They also made more free throws (12) than Cincinnati Christian attempted (7).
The Racers next face host University of Rio Grande at 5 p.m. Saturday. Rio Grande beat OU-Lancaster 95-56 in its Friday matchup.
