There are two more teams to keep track of in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference. The WHAC has approved two teams for membership beginning in July, Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Mich., and Marygrove College, in Detroit. They will begin a full conference schedule in the 2012-13 season.
Lawrence Tech is a private university with an enrollment of nearly 5,000 students. The Blue Devils will compete in basketball, cross country and soccer for both men and women, and women's volleyball. Non-conference sports include men's hockey and men's bowling.
Marygrove is an independent Catholic liberal arts college with an enrollment of 950 students. The Mustangs will compete in basketball, cross country, golf, soccer and track-and-field for men and women, and women's volleyball.

With the growth, the WHAC is holding a Rebrand Us contest, where entrants submit new names for the contest for the chance to win cash prizes. Contest submissions begin November 1 and runs through November 18. A panel of judges will select five finalists, with an online poll running from December 1-10 to determine the winner. The contest is open to the public, anyone age 18 or older.
