The UNOH Lady Racers traveled to Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, MI on Wednesday night. The two teams split in the regular season contests, but were matched up against each other in the first round of the WHAC tournament. The #6 Lady Racers shot poorly against the #3 Golden Eagles and fell 64-40 to end their 2010-11 season.
The Golden Eagles scored the first basket of the game and never looked back. Cornerstone led 21-15 after fifteen minutes of action in the low scoring first half. The Golden Eagles used the homecourt advantage to run off a 12-0 run to take a 33-15 lead which led to a 17-2 run to close the half. The Lady Racers trailed 38-17 at the break.
Cornerstone scored the first 4 points of the half to cap a 21-2 run and a 42-17 lead that would prove to be too much for the Lady Racers to overcome. UNOH used a 9-0 run to get back into the game when they trailed 46-31. But it would all go downhill from there as the Golden Eagles would put away the visiting Lady Racers and end their 2010-11 season by a final of 64-40.
