The UNOH Lady Racers got back into action this weekend as they participated in the Cedarville Tournament. The Lady Racers fell to the nationally ranked Cedarville Yellow Jackets on Friday night by a final of 104-70, but regrouped and defeated Wilberforce by a final of 76-54.

In the opening game for the Lady Racers, they faced a familiar foe in #7 Cedarville. The Yellow Jackets proved to be too much to handle once again as they fell 104-70.

Leading the way for the Lady Racers was Junior Amanda Francis with 16 points. Junior Ashley Jackson scored 11 points and had 4 steals as well. Poor shooting proved to be the problem for UNOH as they shot 32% from the floor for the game.

In the second game of the weekend, the Lady Racers were out for revenge as they faced Wilberforce. The last time they met, Wilberforce upset the Lady Racers to end their postseason hopes in 2009-10. This time around was a different story as UNOH jumped out to a 37-17 halftime lead and ran away with a 76-54 win.

Freshman Rebecca Puckett led the Lady Racer attack with 23 points on 9 of 10 shooting. Freshman Deonica Jones helped in the effort with 15 points of her own and grabbed 7 rebounds. Amanda Francis scored 12 points and grabbed 7 rebounds as well. Ashley Jackson dished out 10 assists, grabbed 6 rebounds, and had 5 steals. Jackson's two performances earned her a spot on the All-Tournament Team for the weekend. Senior Ashley Rothney led the rebounding effort with 8 on the night.

The Lady Racers now stand at 2-3 on the season. They will be back in action on Friday, November 19th when they travel across town to face OSU-Lima Rhodes State. The game is set to start at 6:00 pm.
