The UNOH Lady Racers picked up where they left off on Saturday afternoon, as they carried their success from 2009-10 into their season opener. They defeated Taylor by a final of 6-3, with the victory it is their first ever season opening win in their 4 years of existence.
The Lady Racers got things started right away as they swept the doubles matches to earn a 3-0 lead moving into the singles. Senior Jamie Hilborn and Freshman Shaleigh McClintock won 8-4 at the #1, while Sophomore's Katie Whittington and Shaye Warman won 9-8(3) in a tight match at the #2. To close out the doubles, Junior Tara Carr and Sophomore Jessie Stambaugh won 8-5 at the #3.
 
UNOH split the singles matches with Taylor, but 3 was plenty to give the team a win on Saturday. Shaye Warman won 7-5, 6-3 at the #3 position, Shaleigh McClintock won 6-1, 6-3 at the #4, and at the #5 was Tara Carr as she won 6-4, 7-5.
 
With the win, the Lady Racers are now 1-0 on the season and will be back in action on September 4th as they will travel to the Depauw Invitational.
