SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The University of Northwestern Ohio men's tennis team visited Lawrence Tech Blue Devils for a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.

The NAIA No. 4 Racers (17-1, 4-0 WHAC) got their fifth consecutive win on Saturday afternoon with an 8-1 triumph over the Blue Devils (15-5, 3-2 WHAC) to remain unbeaten in the WHAC field.

The doubles competition showed a trio of hard-fought battles. The Blue Devils achieved the first point of the match as Javier Alvarez and Juan Bermudez got an 8-4 upset victory over the Oracle/ITA No. 5 duo of Radu Popa and Iustin Baciu. However, UNOH rapidly started its comeback as the two doubles the 15th-ranked tandem of Jean-Marc Krone and Ronnie Myburgh defeated Jan Horstkoetter and Mason Wenzel with a narrow 9-7 decision. UNOH sealed the doubles advantage thanks to Theo Baudin and Gjorgji Popovski as three doubles team partnered together to claim an 8-6  victory over Vincent Colarossi and Stijn Bremer.

In singles, the story was different as the Racers reflected dominance on the court by winning all six of the matches in straight sets. No. 11 Baudin and Baciu got the most one-sided results. Baudin was first off with a 6-0, 6-2 triumph over Juan Bermudez at the top spot while Baciu trumped Robert Saitov at third singles with a 6-2, 6-0 decision. Popa and Popovski each duked it out to claim 7-5 first sets before cruising to 6-1 and 6-2 second sets, respectively.

The next matchup for UNOH is scheduled on Tuesday, April 18 as the Racers visit the Concordia University Cardinals for a WHAC showdown in Ann Arbor, Mich. The dual is slated to start at 11 AM.
