LIMA, Ohio – Senior Day got off to a hot start on Saturday afternoon for the University of Northwestern Ohio women's basketball team looked to upset the No. 18 Indiana Tech Warriors in the final home game of the season.

The Racers (10-18, 8-12 WHAC) claimed a 19-15 after the first quarter of play, but the Warriors (21-6, 16-4 WHAC) proved their national ranking and second place standing in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference by surging to the 65-40 decision in The Garage.

UNOH held Indiana Tech to just four field goals in the opening period while converting six of its 12 attempts. The upset was still within reach after the halftime break as the Racers trailed 32-27, but the Warriors outscored UNOH 22-8 in the following period to extend the gap.

Keundra Cox led the Racers with 12 points while Linda Ulasi grabbed a game-high eight rebounds. The Warriors were led by Haley Cook and Keanna Gary with 25 and 21 points, respectively.

Following the contest, UNOH honored its four seniors for each of their contributions to the program. Those players were Lake Johnson, Sogona Sidibe, Luisa Smith, and Ulasi.

The Racers' will have to win both remaining contests while Cornerstone University has to lose the rest of the way to finish among the top eight teams in the WHAC and qualify for the postseason tournament. The season-finale at Cornerstone could prove to be the decisive contest.

First, UNOH will have to visit the University of Michigan-Dearborn and defeat the Wolverines in a conference game on Wednesday, Feb. 15. That contest is scheduled for a 5:30 PM tipoff.
