Womenís Golf in Second after First Day

BELMONT, Mich. – The University of Northwestern Ohio women's golf team competed at the first day of the Battle in Belmont hosted by Davenport University on Monday.

The Racers recently improved their ranking to No. 16 in the NAIA and sit in second place after the first day of competition with a +35 323. Madonna University holds a 16-stroke lead with a 19-over 307 while Wayne State (Mich.) is in third with a 330.

UNOH is being led by Rebekah Rader who shot a +6 78 on the day and is in a three-way tie for fourth place. Brianna Baird is tied for seventh place with a +8 80. Rounding out the scoring for the Racers is Caitriona Griffin's 10-over 82 and Natalia Quintero's 83. Lauren Crooks shot 87 in the round.

The Racers return to action on Tuesday, October 18 for the second and final day of competition.
