UNOH Stands Tall at Day One of WHAC Jamboree

WYOMING, Mich. – The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference women's golf teams met up for the third WHAC Jamboree of the 2016-17 season, and the University of Northwestern Ohio Racers seek to finish atop the standings for the first time in conference play.

No. 21 UNOH got off to a great start for the event as the Racers lead the ten-team field with a +26 314, nine strokes ahead of (RV) Lawrence Tech in second place. Indiana Tech, the 14th-ranked team in the NAIA, sits in third at 324 (+36).

Brianna Baird leads the pack of Racers with a +3 75 but sits two strokes behind Dori Watts of LTU. Tied for fifth place are Faithe Carr and Natalia Quintero who each shot a seven-over 79 through the first day. Rebekah Rader rounds out the scoring for the Racers with a +9 81 and in a three-way tie for 10th place. Not far behind Rader is Caitriona Griffin who shot a +11 83 and is tied for 17th on the leaderboard.

All ten teams return to action on Saturday, Oct. 8 as the Racers will look to hold onto their lead.
