Racers Finish Second with Record Low Round

STURGIS, Mich. – The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opened play in women's golf as the ten-team field competed at the first WHAC Jamboree of the 2016-17 season.

After posting a 337 in round one on Friday, the Racers entered Saturday in third place behind Indiana Tech (325) and Lawrence Tech (332). UNOH managed to post a record-breaking low round on day two as the Racers dropped 22 strokes with a 315 performance.

The impressive round tied Indiana Tech for the lowest of the event and allowed UNOH to leap the Blue Devils for a second place finish with a two-day total 652.

Brianna Baird led the Racers for the second event in a row as her score of 159 (78, 80) tied for fourth place overall. The two-round score is the fourth lowest in UNOH history.

UNOH tied Indian Tech with the most top-10 finishes as Faithe Carr and Rebekah Rader finished in eighth and ninth place respectively while Caitriona Griffin tied Indiana Tech's Loren Kreider in 10th place.

The next event for the Racers is scheduled for Sept. 12 and 13 as UNOH travels to London, Ky. to compete in the Bill Sergent Invitational hosted by the University of the Cumberlands.
