MILWAUKEE, Wisc. – The University of Northwestern Ohio women's golf team opened the 2016-17 season with the first round of the Wolfpack Invitational hosted by Cardinal Stritch University. The Racers shot a team total 331 and sit fifth place in the seven-team field, seven strokes behind Lawrence Tech in fourth and 16 strokes ahead of Grand View in sixth.
Freshman Brianna Baird currently leads UNOH with a two-over 75 and ranks second on the individual leaderboard. The debut performance also ties teammates Faithe Carr and Rebekah Rader for the lowest individual score through 18 holes in program history.
The team returns to action on Tuesday for the second and final round of the Wolfpack Invitational.

UPDATE: The second day of the Wolfpack Invitational got rained out with only a hole and a half left to play, so the standings after the first day have become final for the event. That means Baird finished second overall in her debut outing against three nationally ranked teams.
