LIMA - The University of Northwestern Ohio men's basketball team is pleased to announce the signing of Ed Jenkins, a 5-foot-10 guard from Patrick Henry Community College in Martinsville, Virginia.

Jenkins was named a first-team National Junior College Athletics Association All-American and first-team National Association of Basketball Coaches Division II All-American after his sophomore year for the Patriots. He was the unanimous Region X Player of the Year.

"Ed Jenkins is a terrific recruit for the UNOH basketball program," UNOH coach Chris Adams said. "He has tremendous offensive skills and instincts, along with a tough, hard-nosed approach on defense. Ed not only has the ability to score out of the point position, but he also possesses the ability to pass and see the floor very well. Ed comes from Patrick Henry Community College, where he accumulated numerous honors and had a tremendous career. We are excited that he chose UNOH to further his basketball and academic career."

During his sophomore year, Jenkins averaged 19.4 points, 5.2 assists and 2.6 steals. He scored 1,125 points in his Patrick Henry career, the first player in school history to top 1,000 points.
